On most days, I sit and wonder how the left routinely spins facts and hide statistics on the gun control debate and use the media to promote their gun grabbing agenda. They throw vast amounts of money (millions) from the likes of Bloomberg, Paul Allen, Bill and Melinda gates of the world into their war pot. Anti-gun groups and the media attack the NRA and claim it is a big bully that greatly influences our elected leaders.
The money funded by groups like the Gifford’s, Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense is used to serve up lies and deception and distorts the facts about gun violence and gun rights. These groups are masters of propaganda, running campaigns at the state levels to get restrictive gun laws passed.
The 2nd amendment of the Constitution of the United States clearly states:
“A well-regulated militia being necessary to the security of a Free State, the right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed”.
In 2014, Chicago witnessed the lowest homicide rate the city has seen in 56 years after it was revealed that Chicago was dragged kicking and screaming into the age of enlightenment and was forced to loosen its unconstitutional anti-Second Amendment laws, the same “common sense” gun laws that have for decades kept Chicago a war zone of gun related deaths.
No matter how many times the left blames the NRA, no matter how many times they call for “commonsense gun laws”, one inescapable fact remains: the stats consistently show that yes, more guns= less crime. Who believes that you ask? Millions of Americans who possess the ability to observe. What do places like Chicago, New York, LA Washington DC all have in common? Stringent gun control laws and high crime rates!
The left likes to point to the UK to show that gun control works, however, they neglect to mention that guns have, for centuries, have not been part of their culture. Their nation was not born from citizens with guns and their system of civilian disarmament has been in place long before millions of citizens were armed. If you are looking for a modern day program of how civilian disarmament would look for America look no further than Mexico, which is a nation with some of the strictest anti-gun laws in the world and yet remains awash in rampant violence and as a nation remains hostage to criminals who do not respect the rule of law.
Latest FBI Crime stats for 2014 release on 09/28-15
The latest report reveals that the estimated number of violent crimes reported by LE agencies during 2014 decreased 0.2 percent when compared with 2013 stats. The estimated number of property crimes has decreased 4.3 percent from 2013.
Here are some highlights from crime in the United States in 2014:
- There were an estimated 1,165,383 violent crimes (murder and non-negligent homicides, rapes, robberies and aggravated assaults) reported by Law Enforcement.
- Aggravated assaults accounted for 63.6 percent of the violent crimes reported while robberies accounted for 28.0 percent, rape 7.2 percent and murders 1.2 percent.
- The highest number of arrests was for drug abuse 1,561,231 followed by larceny-theft 1,238,190 and driving under the influence 1,117,852.
- The overall crime rate in the US has been steadily falling since 2012 and the number of guns purchased and concealed-carry licenses has steadily increased in those same years.
Coincidence?
At the end of the day, no matter how many diatribes and temper tantrums Obama or the rest of the Left throw, their calls for gun control are futile. His duty and the duty of our elected officials is to enforce the laws and uphold the Constitution and while they are welcomed to dislike any or all of the rights afforded to Americans, they must bend to the laws of our land or face millions of gun owners who understand that the Second Amendment means a protection of our lives, liberties and the pursuits of happiness.
In closing, I learned what Honor, Courage, and Commitment really mean (which the left should learn) and devoted my life to the safeguarding of our Rights afforded to us by our forefathers and I swore an oath to obey and defend the Constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic which to this day has never expired.
